Adsense Tips and Tricks

Surely many already know them and can not agree. But here goes: some of advice to get more performance (or at least not screw up) with Adsense (based on my experience and things I’ve seen in blogs and forums, your experience may differ)
Never hide your content behind a wall of ads. Exaggerations like putting two blocks of 336×280 followed vertically (or horizontally, but not so annoying …) is not a good strategy. Why? We might think that this strategy is good because then the visitor has no way out and not find the content easily, so you will click on ads or confused with the web content or internal links of the same. Big mistake. Lots of clicks with a CTR exaggerated disinterested could lead all our account Smartprice feared. Besides, it is neither ethical nor professional because, why should we create our website? Why not read that one and go directly to the ads? Some people would answer yes. Not for me nor for all the webmasters that I know and I consider friends;).
Derived from the previous point, an important content with well-placed ads that look good, ie I’m not saying hide them or send them where the sun does not shine at the bottom of the page, but not to impose but to suggest or supplement Reading is the best strategy. Google happy semicontento poster (we know that many want the impossible from a conversion of 100 %…) and, of course, you happy.
Do not put Adsense on pages with content too general may be the cover of a blog that talks about very different topics. Different themes will lead to different ads, both will probably not interest anyone, so the CTR of all the site go down. Also, I guess you do not want your visitor to go as you walk through the front page of your site … Right? It is better to include the Adsense on the pages of individual items, providing an escape payment, sometimes even useful, to your visitor after finding what you want and a lot more to link and concrete .. Eye, mind you that distinguish web site page.
Do not underestimate the power of link units. They are small and adaptable, are perhaps the least intrusive blocks (on all horizontal), links and sometimes seem surprising that attract clicks.

The ideal size for the ad is to the square where you will post. Do not mind those who say they only have to use the giant rectangles. Use them, of course, if you have room for them, why not, sure, but if you, for example, a space where there is only one vertical banner (from 120×240), do not force goals a design or leaving the top megablocs all the blank space to the right (except for some blogs, where it may be appropriate). Integrate requires more effort but in the long run is better. The CTR can be similar to the method of “throwing the blocks to the face,” the ads are less intrusive and the risk of Smartprice is lower.
The edge should disappear with few exceptions. When we offer an ad unit with its border, visitors are saying “this is not related content is advertising or something weird.” Integrates the block with the colors of your site and make the border and background color match the box where the ad. The exceptions are if the block with its edge bears the same way as other content blocks framed page, and yet it is preferable to include the block in a framed box of your website design and not use the edge of the ad.
If you put Adsense on a blog too oriented Internet professionals, ready to receive the lowest CTR history. Unless you have enough traffic or posts that attract you include also, via search engines or whatever, the general public, usually not worth putting Adsense on these kinds of blogs.
While Adsense is a contextual advertisements adapting the content of the page that shows, not all subjects get the same performance. Same-posting, integration with the same content and traffic on two sites with different topics can lead to opposite results. Avoid placing Adsense on sites whose theme gets very few clicks. Those pennies are not going to take from poor and can affect the entire account as the CTR appears to be an important factor.
Adsense performance of a site affect other sites on the same account. This is very important consideration if you have multiple sites with Adsense. If one of your sites Smartprice falls, all other sites you manage the account will fall with it.
Never put Adsense on newly created sites and / or a ridiculous number of visits, especially if it is the only place you have. Expects to be at least respectable traffic. Just by eye, and bearing in mind this is a totally personal estimate, I believe that the reasonable minimum is about 60-100 unique visitors daily. Many webmasters have a habit of putting AdSense on everything that moves and do not realize that can be harmful for several reasons: few hits, especially if they’re yours or family or friends, make firing the CTR for a few clicks you have, what you can do off alarms on Google. Nor is it good that all ad impressions are produced from the same machines by the same people.
Make several test locations, colors and integration of the ads until you find your magic formula and find the balance between showing the contents of your site and subtly highlight the ads as an alternative to leave your site once the visitor, but satisfied wanting more, you’ve found what I was looking at your site.
Do not dismiss a placement because the day he was tested under the CTR was not doing as well as expected. Advertising is not an exact science and not all days are the same people to your website every day and are not equal. Make testing a minimum of 4-7 days and then compare the result with what you had before. If the results got worse these days, it is clear that it is time to return to the previous configuration.
Always keep copies of pages with the settings of previous ads when you make a change to reverse it if it’s okay.
“Display ads only to visitors from search engines? I am not clear who should do with all types of sites. In highly specialized topics such as the SEO or sites with repeat visitors and an excessive number of pages viewed by early adopters (such as a forum) it can be a good strategy. To achieve this, if you know programming, manages the header referer. If you use WordPress, the plugin Who Sees Ads? is ideal for this purpose.
If you have never read the policies and terms of the Adsense, maybe now is a good time.
Do not include Adsense in places not allowed by their rules.
