i gave it one star becouse of the price. other then that it’s a peice of crap. i played one movie. after that it would not work. it would not read dvd’s, cd’s or vcd’s.

Basically, this item is a piece of crap. I normally don’t take the time to write reviews but I feel the need to warn you. I was looking for a region free DVD player and I saw this one which seemed to be reasonably priced. I checked it out and read the reviews. Unfortunately I ignored the negative reviews, and bought the player. On the day of arrival I spent over an hour trying to get any disc to play. Straight out of the box it would not play anything! Besides feeling flimsy and cheap, it actually was! What a surprise. So for your sake, PLEASE please DO NOT buy this DVD player. Head my warning and spend your money on a more reliable product.

I purchased this itm 3/510. After receiving it and watching maybe 4 movies there was no color. I thought it may have been the DVD and tried a couple more. I called Toshiba and this model has the Toshiba name though modified in some other country to allow the multinational use. Toshiba informed me that I would have to contact the other company….. I returned this machine and stuck with Sony.

Unit played for 15 minutes and then the drive collapsed and lost all sound and picture. Didn’t expect much for the price but at least expected some usage. Stay away.

Very nice player! Not too bulky. Picture display is great. No difficult playing foreign movies at all. I own many American movies and several British movies – and another British movie release in Jan 2010 – ‘Dorian Gray’ (Amazon.com.uk) – can’t wait to watch it with this player! check it out!
